Infractions are generally handled at either district courts (for WSP or local sheriffs) or municipal courts (for local police departments). Sometimes local police departments (Bellevue, for example) have their infractions handled at a local district court if they don’t want to set up their own court system. Some cities have a police department that is actually staffed by county officers by contract (Sammamish, Shoreline) so “city” police officers write tickets into a district court. Some cities (Snoqualmie) write their tickets into another municipal court that has agreed to handle their cases.
